Information used by PlaceRules

The service processes location searches, map points, supplied area geometry, analysis identifiers, product events, and the technical records needed to deliver reports. For paid purchases it also processes the checkout email and provider/payment identifiers needed for entitlement, delivery, reconciliation, and refunds.

Payments

Checkout is hosted by Stripe. PlaceRules does not directly handle raw payment-card numbers. Local payment records store the provider identifiers and payment state required to deliver and reconcile the purchase.

Reports and access links

Reports and uploads use private PlaceRules storage. One-time report access tokens and revocable report-share tokens are stored as cryptographic hashes rather than plaintext tokens.

Analytics

PlaceRules records privacy-minimized product events such as boundary completion, checkout progress, report opens/shares, and refund activity so the service can measure reliability and the customer funnel.

Retention

The launch baseline retains immutable analyses, pinned evidence, product-profile versions, and report versions for seven years so paid results remain reproducible. Identity and contact data are deleted or anonymized according to the applicable account/privacy process; the final long-term retention period remains subject to the adopted legal and insurance posture.

Security boundaries

PlaceRules uses separate customer storage from Juniper Geo Core canonical source storage. The browser does not receive Geo Core credentials. Access to paid reports requires an entitlement or a high-entropy revocable share token.
